Resistance Management

Bt hybrids continue to be an important weapon in the annual battle against corn borers. Today, Bt hybrids also mean corn rootworm resistant corn hybrids. Regardless of which Bt hybrids you are planting, resistance management is critical to the continued success and long-term viability of Bt hybrids and guarding against resistance is everyone's responsibility.
One cornerstone of resistance management is planting a portion of your corn acreage as a refuge. The refuge allows resistant and non-resistant insects to mate, assuring a generation of non-resistant offspring.
